Search engine algorithms are designed to detect content that was written for the sole purpose of boosting search engine traffic. Google has been focused on semantic search and now uses something called Latent-Semantic Indexing (LSI) in its core Hummingbird engine. Keywords are less often used nowadays as the first signal to indicate what your post is about, but they are still helpful to offer an overview of the topic you’re focusing on. Recycle existing content
Most SEO firms will tell claim it takes 4 to 6 months to start seeing results. It varies wildly but that’s generally in the ballpark for most projects. Note that SEO results are cumulative & escalate over time. If you’re getting positive results after 6 months these will compound after 12 months & re-compound thereafter. Links back to your site from elsewhere online are an important way to improve your search ranking; Increasing visibility via organic search today means incorporating content marketing, UX, CRO, and high-level business strategy. Don’t stuff your footer with all kind of irrelevant links. Keep it focused, make sure these links are helping your visitor. Google will find all relevant pages if you focus on a good site structure anyway. According to Gaz Hall, a UK SEO Consultant
: "You should include a sitemap on your website that holds an index of all your web pages. This way search engines can find all of your pages and index them easily. You should try to limit sitemaps to 50 links, so make sure the most important ones are in there. Some search engines reject sites with more than this number. Create helpful and shareable content
Find the most relevant and search keywords that relate to the content you provide and then add those keywords to your site text. Use the word a few times within the page in a way that relates to the rest of the text and is natural. Audit links back to
your website and make sure they’re primarily from trustworthy, reputable websites. Every SERP is unique, even for search queries performed on the same search engine using the same keywords or search queries. This is because virtually all search engines customize the experience for their users by presenting results based on a wide range of factors beyond their search
terms. There’s been some debate in the SEO community about whether or not “social signals” can affect your search rankings, and what, exactly, “social signals” are in the first place. This is mostly because Google has both explicitly confirmed and explicitly denied the presence of social signals in its search ranking algorithm. The hypothesis is that articles that receive a high number of social media shares will get an additional boost in perceived authority -- which makes sense on paper, but the empirical evidence varies.
